Why smart electric car chargers are the future?

图片
Standard EV car charging stations are considered innovations in and of themselves, bringing the convenience of at-home charging to the wider public. However, as all inventions do, the charging station has evolved with the wants and needs of the humans who use them. Smart EV chargers  are now a part of the electric vehicle market, bringing with them a range of capabilities that make maintaining an EV as easy and cost-effective as possible. But how are these new iterations different to their predecessors, and what makes them the future of EV charging? What is a smart  EV charger ? Let’s start by defining what a smart EV charger is, and how it differs from your standard fare. “Smart Charging means you can intelligently manage how your  electric vehicle charges  by connecting it to the grid.” – Wallbox, an EV Charger Developer In other words, your  charger connects  to both your power grid and your vehicle, allowing data sharing across these co...

How To Buy And Install The Right EV Charger

How to Choose the Right  EV Charger If you’ve determined that the supplied charger isn’t adequate for your daily charging needs, you’ll need to consider a number of factors to determine which EV charger is right for you. Cost:  There are many different EV  chargers  to choose from, with prices ranging from $200 to over $1,000.  Plug-in or Hardwired:  EV chargers are available in plug-in or hardwired options. Plug-in units offer the flexibility of easily removing the charger to use in another location, or perhaps return it for a replacement if there’s ever a problem. Hardwired chargers are permanently affixed to the wall and require an electrician to disconnect and remove them. Cable Length:  EV chargers come with cables that can be as short as 12-feet and as long as 25-feet. Choose one that has a cable long enough to reach the charge port of your car in any position you park it. Get a cable at least 20-feet long.  Smart or Dumb:  Smart...

How to Handle Electric Vehicle Charger Failures

图片
The use of electric cars can be very popular. The summer heat often meets the problem of the spontaneous explosion, and for electric car charging, we also need to be careful; then, the  electric car charger  should pay attention to what that? Electric car  chargers  share charging small problems. First, pay attention to the charging time. An electric car battery is not charged the longer there is more energy stored. When the battery is charged for a certain period of time, the power is saturated, and then continuing to charge will not have much effect. Electricity will not be converted into chemical energy and stored but more to promote the occurrence of chemical reactions in the battery. When the rate of chemical reactions in the battery exceeds the normal level will make the battery become more prone to When the rate of chemical reactions in the battery exceeds the normal level, the battery will become more prone to aging, and the metal materials in the...

Best Electric vehicle on-board charger (OBC)

图片
Battery electric vehicles (BEVs) and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs) use high-voltage battery systems to drive the cars. These battery systems require a method of charging when not in motion. The most common systems use 300 V-400 V batteries, but some manufacturers have begun specifying 800 V battery systems to improve vehicle energy efficiency. Regardless of battery voltage or battery type, they all require a method of daily charging. One method is to use a stationary  charger,  which can be installed in a garage or public place. However, there may be a need to charge the vehicle in remote locations where there is no dedicated charging source. In this case, there must be a charger in the vehicle that can use typical AC supply voltages and connections. This requirement forms the basis for the need for an on-board charger. Today's OBCs employ many different designs while always balancing their power levels with cost and weight. Vehicle manufacturers must define...
